This confocal gallery contains several 3-D reconstructions and maximum projections of the chloroplast structure in various algal species.
The pictures are based on the serial sections through the cells, which were captured by the confocal laser scanning microscope Leica TCS SP2 or Bio-Rad MRC 600. For visualisation of the chloroplast structure I have exploited the autofluorescence of the chlorophyll. For the final processing of the confocal images and various chloroplast structure visualizations, Leica Confocal Software, ImageJ, and Amira™ 2.3 softwares were used.
