algaeBASE
AlgaeBase is a database of information on algae that includes terrestrial, marine and freshwater organisms. At present, the data for the marine algae, particularly seaweeds, are the most complete. For convenience, we have included the sea-grasses even though they are flowering plants.

Catalogue of Diatom Names
The Catalogue of Diatom Names is a relational database of diatom names and publications, compiled by staff at the California Academy of Sciences. It includes a table of genus names, a table of species and infraspecific taxa names, and a table of publications. We have recorded basic nomenclatural information for each name such as authorship, place and date of publication, and nomenclatural status.

Index Nominum Algarum
The INA is a card file maintained by Paul Silva at the Herbarium of the University of California. It contains nearly 200,000 names of algae (in the broad sense). The BPU is a card file containing bibliographic references pertaining to algal taxonomy.

The Fritsch Collection
The unique Fritsch Collection contains floristic information, and illustrates the diverse views that have been, or are still, held about the identification and taxonomy of worldwide freshwater & terrestrial algae.
